If you’ve just found out your pregnant, it’s going to be important at this time that you make some key changes to your fitness approach.  Or, if you’ve just given birth to your brand new baby and are hoping to regain your pre-baby body back as quickly as possible, there are also some important things that you’ll need to keep in mind with regards to what you should be doing at this point to make it happen.

Either way, adjustments to your workout routine are key if you hope to achieve optimal success.  And, if you have a professional personal trainer by your side, you can make sure that you’re doing everything perfectly as you should be.

Let’s look at a few of the main points that you should know.

Pre Natal Training

When you’re in the pre-natal period, your body is going to be undergoing extensive changes as your baby grows and develops.  At this point your fitness program needs to take on more of a maintenance approach, trying to sustain your fitness levels as best as possible for the coming months ahead.

You need to be focusing on movements that are going to ensure you can keep up with your regular daily lifestyle activities with ease, even as your weight starts to climb slightly and your body begins changing shape.

Furthermore, you’ll also want to be doing an exercise program that helps keep your weight gain to the healthy range without putting your baby at risk at any point in time.

Post Natal Training

Now, after you’ve given birth, things change slightly.  Now the goal becomes fat loss, however care must be taken to do so safely while sustaining your energy level.

You have a new baby at home and energy is something that you’ll need plenty of.  Plus, you don’t want to lose weight too rapidly or it may impact your ability to generate breast milk as you should.

When working with me, we’ll come up with a game plan together that will take you all the way from the immediate post-natal period to a few months down the road when you will have regained your pre-baby body back.

Many of the new mothers I’ve worked with report that they actually look better post-baby than they did before they became pregnant. It is remarkable what your body can handle if you get the right training plan in place.
