When it comes to losing weight, not all exercises are created equal. And although a healthy exercise routine includes a variety of moves, some activities are far more efficient than others at burning calories. Cardio is very important to burn those extra calories however, there is a lot more to consider if you want to achieve better result.

Weight training become a very important aspect to a workout when it come down to burning body fat. Even though weights, push-ups and chin-ups won't put you on the fast track to weight lost strength training is still very important for weight management. When you build muscle, you effectively increase your metabolic rate because bigger muscles burn more calories, even as you sleep.

Everyone naturally loses muscle mass with age, and this is a big part of the metabolism slowdown that comes with middle age. With regular strength training, you can help perk up a sluggish metabolism and prevent weight gain. It is not so one or the other. Is cardio better than weight training or is weight training better than cardio. Science as shown us that the combination of the 2 is mandatory to successfully burn body fat and maintain your personal desire body fat percentage.
