Body Sculpting: The Key to Continual Motivation in the Gym: Most people work out for two main reasons—to have a healthier, stronger body, and to be their most physically fit and confident selves. While this article will discuss aspects of health and strength, we will be discussing mainly one of the central tenets that Thurston Personal Training and Fitness is based upon: the art of body sculpting for
perfect proportion and maximum aesthetic appeal. Sculpting your body to be perfectly in proportion (your head, chest, torso, hips, and legs in the ideal symmetry and visual equality) to your individual size, while focusing on lean muscle mass. Focusing not only on health and nutrition, but also on physical improvements through strategic body sculpting ensures that clients of personal trainers in Phoenix continue to stay motivated and excited about working out.
Tailoring Body Sculpting for Client Success: When a client first comes to a session, there is a cohesive interview and workout lesson that goes over body fat, physical capabilities, measurements such as size and weight, injuries, problem areas, eating habits, current activity, and goals for health and physical success markers. It is during this session that together the client and Thurston Fitness expert determine ideal measurements and goals. Specifically, the tailored exercises, meal plans, and carefully selected group fitness classes that it will take to achieve the milestones set during the interview. With the foundation carefully laid for a focus on body sculpting, a client must then focus learning the methodology and reasoning behind this approach, and practice until this becomes a long-term success. There are four main pillars to the body sculpting technique that has been perfected by the fitness professionals at Thurston Personal Fitness:
o Build muscle to increase metabolism:many people do not realize that building muscle actually helps to burn fat, and does not take up more physical space. Women in particular might think that lifting weights causes a bulky appearance. This is not true, however, as women have little testosterone, which causes bulking, but lifting weight will cause a female to lean out and increase their metabolism.
o Creating an after burn effect from the workout itself: an after burn effect occurs after intense cardiovascular work (in the case of body sculpting, rapid paced, high repetitions with heavy lifting) which can increase metabolism for up to 14 hours while burning an additional 200 calories post-workout. By focusing on the after burn effect with specific workout routines, the body is burning away
fat and calories long after a rigorous body sculpting workout.
o Creating shape and definition through concentrated and intense muscle building: one of the most important aspects of body sculpting is aesthetic appeal and proper proportions. By tailoring fitness sessions to the body type, size, and capabilities to each individual the client’s body responds by becoming more defined and lean, and developing the ideal hourglass shape. This hourglass shape is usually characterized as toned shoulders that are slightly wider than the hips, and a small waist.
o Nutrition and meal planning to optimize workouts and reduce body fat more quickly: no lifestyle change or fitness regime can ignore the absolute importance of proper meal planning and nutrition intake. The ratio that is commonly discussed for obvious physical results are measured by 80% diet, and 20% of the effort put forth in the gym. While this number may not exactly that, the importance of thoughtful meal planning cannot be understated. Pushing your body hard during workouts is very important for body sculpting, but without eating pure, nutrition rich food in small portions throughout your entire day, the results from workouts will not be nearly as effective or visible.
